One mistake many critics make in their analysis is judging a work by what it could have been rather than by what it actually is. If you go in expecting a "Souls-like" experience, you are unlikely to appreciate Wo Long. But if you view it as a dark fantasy take on Koei’s greatest strengths, blended with elements from various Team Ninja titles? It becomes very hard to put the controller down.

EA SPORTS Madden NFL 27 is a complex American football simulator that keep the strengths and weaknesses of the franchise. The first contact by a new player highlights the difficulties of the game, but there' room for learning and to enjoy the sport if the player makes and effort and the heavy online dependency [of the modes] isn't an issue.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is a minor miracle simply for running on the Switch 2. For a game that isn't optimized even on more powerful consoles, the version dedicated to Nintendo's system still delivers good visuals—despite glaring performance limitations—and a portability that pairs perfectly with the sandbox nature of Bethesda RPGs.

If you also skipped Elden Ring during the previous generation and were waiting for the Switch 2 version to launch, the Tarnished Edition is an easy recommendation for me to make. It is one of the best RPGs I have ever played, and even arriving a few years after the original release, it remains an experience worth discovering for anyone.

The Lord of the Rings: War in the North is a prime example of a "6 out of 10" game: passable and nothing more. It may have more flaws than merits, yet it somehow manages to deliver enough fun that, upon finishing the campaign, the player thinks, "It was actually pretty decent." If I could make one wish, it would be for Starsand Island to have spent a little more time in the oven. I was initially excited for the patches, as I really wanted to play a polished version of the game. After a few crashes forced me to replay entire days, boredom set in, and the title will have a hard time winning back my goodwill.

It is always difficult to evaluate the merits of a game that is hampered by technical issues. On one hand, there is the experience lying beneath all those problems, and there is a lot of good there; recognizing this means acknowledging the developers' competence in creating a solid, creative foundation for the game. On the other hand, when viewing games as products—given that there is a price to pay to acquire them—receiving a title marred by technical flaws does not seem like a good deal.

A good adjective to describe OVER REQUIEMZ would be “concise.” The game avoids wasting time establishing a complex world or secondary characters outside the chosen route, focusing almost entirely on the plot involving the love interest, the protagonist, and their relationship.
