The PC version of Ghost of Tsushima is simply the definitive version of a game that was already stellar when it landed on the PlayStation 4. It can't help but be gorgeous at just about every turn, and gripes about the sameness aside, the gameplay is extremely well polished. Games like this only exist when absolutely everyone involved pour a lot of passion into it, and it continues to be one of my favorites with this excellent PC port. Whether you prefer a controller or a keyboard and mouse, and whether you like the idea of sneaking around or of shouting your challenge to any Mongol who dares to cross you, Ghost of Tsushima delivers a memorable experience.
Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut for PC is an exceptional port that faithfully brings the fascinating world of Tsushima to a new platform. The developers at Nixxes Software have done a great job with optimization, ensuring smooth and seamless performance. The game stands out for its visual beauty, complex combat system, and deep story that draws players into the conflict between tradition and honor. Despite a few hiccups, Jin Sakai’s arduous journey remains one of the best samurai adventures available on the market. Even if you’ve already played the console version, the PC port is undoubtedly a must-play for you.

If you have already played on a console and finished the game, nothing is going to attract you about this edition more than the replayability and the enjoyment of a more cinematic version with a slightly higher quality, if you have a machine to run it at maximum performance.

While Sony's poor regional pricing and its decision to delist the game from countries without a PSN presence warrant criticism, the excellent work done by Nixxes on Ghost of Tsushima's PC port should not be neglected. Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut is a great port of an entertaining open-world title.
Sony’s new policy on bringing their big console releases to PC had a shaky start, given how much flak they got as to Days Gone’s initial release on Steam – which I personally did not have any problems with – but with each new release, they’ve gotten better and better, and for a while now their ports have been downright excellent. If you have yet to experience Ghost of Tsushima and are looking to do so on PC, there’s absolutely no reason not to do it, even more so if you have a good machine to run it on.
While presenting its semi-fictional, semi-historical vision of Japan shaped by different eras, the game does far more than simply incorporate the country’s landscapes and samurai attire into the story. Sucker Punch Productions carefully weaves countless cultural elements into the experience, ranging from the code and discipline of being a samurai to Japanese customs and traditions, as well as legends, folklore, and even the art of haiku poetry. The studio goes to remarkable lengths to ensure that players truly feel like they belong to that world.

Ghost of Tsushima is a polished game with a compelling story, stunning visuals, and engaging mechanics. Its atmosphere will immediately draw you in. This isn't going to be a new game for most, but Ghost of Tsushima is the best checkbox open-world game to-date. While it struggles with some story issues, the combat, world, activities, and characters are incredible, and this game's beauty is like no other.
Now that I’ve had a moment to catch my breath and collect myself, what I’m about to say will hardly come as a surprise to anyone. Get Ghost of Tsushima now, if you haven’t, and play it immediately if it’s on your backlog. It just holds up against the stiffest of competition in the PS4 generation of games, and may even exceed them by a hair. For now, I will be quietly praying for a sequel to Ghost of Tsushima.
Ghost of Tsushima was my personal Game of the Year. Whilst it is not necessarily a ground-breaking, revolutionary title(nor does it need to be), it just is very, very, very, very, good. And, I reckon most of you out there will agree.
Ghost of Tsushima is a flawed, but fun, game. While the gameplay itself was solid, and the story was decent, I definitely expected a lot more from Sony’s final PlayStation 4 exclusive. It had enough to keep me hooked, but lacked the polish we’ve all grown to love from a Sony first party game.
Ghost of Tsushima might just be one of the best games I have ever played. In a similar way to when I got stuck in to God of War or Horizon: Zero Dawn, I found myself asking why I waited so long to get it.
Sucker Punch has created one of the best PS4 titles with Ghost of Tsushima and has given the approaching end of this console generation a worthy conclusion. Even though the beginning could have been a little rounder and the main story is not a masterpiece in itself, Jin's adventure as a complete work convinces with a brute fighting system and beautiful visuals. The great side stories, which give the characters additional depth and further illuminate their motives, quickly turn empty shells into individual characters. You are happy about positive events and share their pain in sad situations. All this makes it for me personally a more down-to-earth, but also better Assassin's Creed. Because with the latest titles I too often had the feeling that side stories degenerate into work rather than experiences. Technically, Ghost of Tsushima is not the best that has ever been seen on PlayStation, and even though the camera doesn't always react as I would have liked in hectic situations, I had a very well-rounded gaming experience throughout. For anyone who can even vaguely relate to open worlds and the historical Japanese setting, Ghost of Tsushima is an absolute must.

Ghost of Tsushima is a once-in-a-console generation type of game. There aren’t many we could say the same thing about in the same sentence. Red Dead Redemption 2? Sure. The Witcher 3. Absolutely. Breath of the Wild? Yes. But Ghost of Tsushima easily stands amongst the heaviest hitters to release over the course of the last seven years. With plans to expand the game further as we’ve seen in the weeks since release, including a multiplayer component titled Legends arriving later this Fall, Sucker Punch is clearly committed to seeing this new IP thrive and prosper. And that, my friends, brings a huge, cheesy grin to my face.
Set on the small island of Tsushima just off the coast of mainland Japan in 1274, the game starts with the army of Tsushima charging the beaches to battle the 30,000 strong Mongolian invaders that have come to conquer their land. As you may have guessed this does not go to plan as the army of Tsushima is defeated with ease, and the Japanese ruler Lord Shimura is captured by Khotun Khan, a successful general and descendent of the legendary Genghis Khan.
Ghost of Tsushima is a beautiful and satisfying game. While it doesn’t feel like a revelation in innovation, it’s an improvement of existing models. We’ve already experienced the joys of the open world concept, but Ghost takes everything we’re familiar with and does it better.
Ghost of Tsushima does not stray away from your typical AAA Open World game, but it does some small changes and improvements that make it a lot more pleasant and fun than other games in the genre. The game's combat is satisfying (the stealth is not), and it's got one of the most beautiful worlds I've ever had the pleasure to play in.

If Ghost of Tsushima truly is the last big PS4 exclusive then Sucker Punch has made sure the console is going out honourably. I have no doubt that Ghost of Tsushima will be in the Game of the Year conversation, and might also be included in people’s lists of the best games of all time. In a lot of ways, it’s the Assassin’s Creed game we’ve been wanting. Despite the seemingly natural fit, Ubisoft never did take their stabby-stabby games to Japan, and so it’s like Sucker Punch heaved a great sigh and said, “fine, we’ll do it ourselves, then.” And do it themselves they did, creating one of the finest open-world games of the generation.
